I pulled this off the wire this morning, regarding health insurance.
“Residents in 22 rural Northern California counties will see a 33.2 percent increase. Those counties include: Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Nevada, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra,Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tuolumne and Yuba”.
Does it appear, the Government is trying to drive people from rural areas into the cities? Or is it because rural residents are an easy touch of the wallet? I do wonder?
We already pay an extra tax they call a “Fire Fee”. As Moonbeam shouts from the Capitol, “Round’m up – Headed’m out…. Rawhide”.
As a Jefferson State Supporter, that’s my political rant for the day, and it’s only 9:00am.
Then a bowl of fruit to start the day, swimming in Heavy Whipping Cream
Thursday is trash day. We share a large can and the cost with Neighbor Jeff & Cindi’s for trash service. We get our stuff together, and down the road by 9:00am every Thursday. I think we pay $17 a month, which is half the total costs for a homeowner here.
We don’t put the trash out earlier than the last minute because of bears. They’ve become a small problem throughout the area this year, and as close as on our road, but it’s only food they’re after.
They really aren’t much of a danger as some think. Cougars are what you want to watch for. They’re hanging around this year as well.
Patty trimmed my beard in the places I no longer see since my wreck. Doing such things, we’ve noticed my hair falling out lately. I go for my third chemo tomorrow. Gosh, and I’ve got a really ugly shaped skull. “Bring it on“.
Patty left for her walk. She walks fairly consistently, and she goes a little over 2 miles each time; up and down a significant (scary) hill. We are flatland deprived. She’s an amazing woman of action!
I mentioned yesterday neighbor Al and Jackie are moving. They gave us this trailer and Tractor. We are giving our tractor to Patty’s Niece Brigette and her husband Dan. Thank you for the generous gift guys!
I was going to work on the bar top installation in the shop when neighbor Mike came over to start on the fence post we putting up on the west side of the yard.
I was surprised it went this quickly, but obviously Mike has been here before. He did the heavy lifting on this job, and I am grateful to have his help.
It would be disappointing to not finish these projects in time.
Just as we wrapped the fencing up for the day, here shows Jim. Jim lives nearby too. He’s the same Jim who works with contractor Jay.
Anyway, we were just making some lunch when he arrived. Jim was going into Pine Grove to get a burger at “Beefy Burger”. It’s a real good burger, with fries, and a drink with refills for about $8.00.
Still somehow I talked Jim into a burrito at Chateau Three Fork.
Pork Burritos grilled in Onions and Bell Peppers. Add Lettuce, Tomato, and Cheese, and of course Gatorade.
We finished lunch, and Jim left. All of a sudden another biker friend comes up to the house. Suzanne and Jackie stopping in. Suzanne’s husband Ed is at Al’s, and we’ll all head that way.
We hung out at Al & Jackie’s until it was decided we’d all go into Plymouth for dinner at the Mexican Restaurant there for another fine meal.
We rode bikes together for many years, many miles, many memories, and many adventures we’ve had many times.
Ed and Suzanne left for the Valley, Al and Jackie turned in, and we got home to this:
We left again this time to contractor Jay’s for a couple of hours. We hung out, and checked out his new concrete slab he just laid in front of his garage/shop (it’s huge).
We headed home a little after 9:00pm. whew!!!
