Strawberry Fields Forever

Tuesday, October 10, 2017 –

Influenced by the planet Jupiter, I subscribed to my own blog to see what “followers” see when they’re notified of a new posting by Email.  I see the Email notice is somewhat different than if you were to read it from our website, RonaldLee.Blog.  I further realized it is again a different format if you view it on a tablet, or your phone.

I’m not sure how the original should be formated, so for now I’ll stick to the way it is.  Like I’d said at the beginning of this journal, when it comes to the blogging, I don’t really know what I’m doing.

The only thing I really have to add is that if you haven’t been to the website itself before, you might take a look at it.  Especially if you don’t know me or Patty, there’s an “About Ron & Patty” tab to click and see.  Just thought I’d mention that.

I took a little trip across the mountain to visit a friend who has a pharmaceutical farm.  They permit this commercial activity in Calaveras County, right next to our County.

Climate controlled grow and drying room

There’s a wildfire fire there presently, on the south side of the Mokelumne River, but my friend’s place is not in danger.  Many are though, and there are many in danger in other places right now in Northern California.  We know some that have lost their homes, and businesses in the Napa area.  Truly sad.

Patty has changed plans for printing her pillow orders today.  Tuesday is often a print day, but she said she’s on a roll with the glamper, and will delay the printing until tomorrow.

So this became another day of working on the glamper.  Patty got the frame painted with a rust inhibitor.  She will put the final coat over that.  We hope it adheres alright, but as I said previously, we don’t know much about this business.

I finished the wall.  Jeff brought his tractor up to spread more of the gravel we had sitting here.  It looks fine to me.

One more project in the books.

You might wonder why I would go to such effort around here under these circumstances, but when you get a time frame for living, you feel a need to get to work.  My goal is to have this place not needing anything for Patty to have to do.  When I leave her, I want her to have a fresh start with the maintenance on this joint.  I don’t want anyone to be able to say, “he left her in a bad spot”.

Afterward, she’s on her own to keep it up.
